Vince Lombardi, the man i admire the most.
Afer realising several things today, most of them rational, logic and of self-importance, I decided to take a break of such thoughts and started rambling through the internet. My continous reading led me across a phrase written by Vince Lombardy. I instantanely fel for it, because it follows my NEW philosophy. I searched for more and more quotes, and one after another, I thought, were leading me to the very best of myself.
I am achieveing my goals, chasing and hunting down my dreams.. but overal coming to realization of the following concepts:
- How to know when you are loved. We all experiment this fear, the fear of rejection or being with someone who might be not worth your time at the end. The only and solely way to avoid his, is to be with someone who LOVES you. Yet, it is impossible to know how others feel about anything, specially about yourself. But of one thing I am certain: analogically if you know how to solve an equation, you know when someone is solving it, one way or another, whether he is correct or not. Same happens with love. If you love yourself, from your nose to your thoughts, you´ll know who is truthfully saying they love your eyes, your hair, your voice, you. Also, it will be pretty simple to identify who might be a potencial “lover” of your features, the entirity of them. And here comes a question many people ask thmselves: am I worth? Well, if you DO NOT love yourself, you will always think you are little worth or not-that-much worthy. On the other hand, if you DO love yourself, you´ll know that you are 110% worth and the question is: is he/she worth for me?
- Feel and be proud of whom you are, no matter how many times people call you pretentious, egocentric or whatever other adjectives they feel might describe you. You are yourself and if being yourself make you better than the others, such a pitty for them.
- You belong to yourself. When I was asked: “aren´t you proud of your University, or why did you criticize it?” I responded: “I am proud of my university, but I am prouder to be myself.” You are NOT defined by a place, a group of people or their ideas… you are defined by whatever you are, whether others see it or not. Where do you belong? To yourself. Who are you? Your own, and there will never be comparission to it.
“Gentlemen, we are going to relentlessly chase perfection, knowing full well we will not catch it, because nothing is perfect. But we are going to relentlessly chase it, because in the process we will catch excellence. I am not remotely interested in just being good.”
